2025 DSP Hero- Agnes Moitui

Celebrating a Legacy of Care: Agnes Moitui Receives the 2025 NJACP DSP Heroes Recognition Award

At Everas Community Services, we have the profound privilege of working alongside exceptional individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others. It is with great honor to announce Agnes Moitui, a member of our DSP team for 18 years, has been honored with the 2025 DSP Heroes Recognition Award by the New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP). This award celebrates Direct Support Professionals across the state who make a lasting, positive impact on the intellectual and developmental disabilities community.

For 36 years, including 18 years with Everas, Agnes has devoted her career to supporting people with IDD as a Direct Support Professional. She began her DSP journey as a college student studying Sociology. After graduating, Agnes chose to remain in the field out of love for the people she supported and because she realized it was more than a job but a lifelong calling. The people she supports became her chosen family and that sense of family continues to bring her joy and purpose every day.

Agnes embodies the belief that the health and well-being of her clients is priority. She goes beyond daily care and nurtures healthy lifestyles, putting great effort into preparing homecooked meals, encouraging daily exercise, and finding creative ways to keep those she supports active all year round. One person who once relied on solely fast food is now eating healthier and thriving thanks to Agnes’ persistence and steady encouragement. Another, who had lost some mobility after a hospital stay, regained his strength through the guided walks Agnes took with them at local parks and malls. She loves to spend time with the people she supports and prioritizes community engagement. When others are unable to be there, she never hesitates to step in to provide the support and consistency of care our clients deserve.  She is someone who both our clients and team can always rely on.

Agnes’s dedication is a testament to her character. For over ten years, she worked the overnight shift at Everas while simultaneously raising her young children. She balanced these responsibilities, sacrificing sleep to show up fully for her family at home and her chosen family at work. Her unwavering reliability, hard work, and deep dedication to those she loves are an inspiration to all who know her. Agnes’s optimism and steady spirit leave a mark on everyone around her.

Agnes is more than deserving of the NJACP DSP Heroes Award. While no award could ever fully capture the countless hours, and unwavering dedication she has poured into this job, this honor is a reflection of her extraordinary commitment. We are thrilled to recognize Agnes as our NJACP 2025 DSP Hero.

Please join us in congratulating Agnes Moitui on this well-deserved honor. She represents the very heart of our mission at Everas, and we are incredibly grateful for her 18 years of service and the profound legacy she has built over her 36-year career.

Thank you, Agnes, for everything you do.
